The key for my front door wouldn't work. While I was trying to turn the handle, the door suddenly opened from the inside. The stranger standing inside my house asked, "What do you want?"

Surprised, I said, "What are you doing inside MY house!?"

"This is my house", said the man standing in front of me.

He stole my house! A nightmare in the middle of the day. The man in my doorway had stolen my house, changed the locks and had control of everything I owned inside.

Prove It
When standing outside your house with a key that doesn't work it is not easy to prove ownership. I know because we had difficulty when the police arrived. Would you be able to produce a deed to your house the moment you returned from vacation? Neither could we.
